Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to effectively negotiate and control costs. This role is critical in ensuring accurate pricing and successful project execution from inception to completion.
Duties
- Oversee the preparation of detailed cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Utilize HeavyBid software for efficient cost estimation and project tracking.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets and ensure adherence to cost control measures.
- Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather necessary information for estimates.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
- Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Lead a team of estimators, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and best practices in construction management.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of cost control processes.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and project management principles.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms from vendors.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in pricing and budgeting tasks.
- Ability to build effective relationships with team members, clients, and subcontractors.
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
