Salary: $29.74-$31.12/hour DOE

Position Overview: The Shuttle Driver drives gasoline, natural gas, or diesel-powered tractor trailer combination to safely transport and deliver products in loose or packaged form.

Language Skills: English proficiency required. Spanish is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Amount of Travel Involved: 25%

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follow all safety procedures and work as safe as possible at all times.
• Safely drives truck to destination.
• Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition per Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
• Pull 53’, 48’ and 45’ trailers.
• Complete all Federal and State mandated paperwork, logbooks, daily vehicle inspections, etc.
• Maintains driver log according to DOT regulations.
• Assists workers in loading and unloading truck.
• General
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere and interaction with customers, co-workers, and management.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts, weekends, and extended hours as required but within DOT regulations.

Experience for Success:

• Must be able to operate 3 axle tractor and trailer safely.
• Ability to operate 10 speed, 9 speed, 8 speed and super 10 speed transmissions.
• Must maintain a clean DMV driving record.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D) and one year of truck driving experience required
• Or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Must possess current class “A” driver’s license.
• Current Hazmat Endorsement preferred.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus and vision must meet the DOT standards. Must be able to pass and comply with all pre-employment physical and random DOT drug screens.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving vehicles, forklifts and pedestrians. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
