Position Overview: The Construction Supervisor’s primary responsibility will be to supervise all underground construction projects being performed by MC Fiber, including improvements and maintenance of underground facilities. This individual will supervise laborers, heavy equipment operators and mechanics while training and directing buried cable construction crews. This individual will pre-survey job sites to determine the need for workers, equipment, materials, parts, and safety provisions. They will schedule personnel for projects and make site inspections to check public safety precautions and the use of prescribed safety equipment and procedures and will respond to outside plant emergency calls when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees and inspects underground construction crew work to ensure construction jobs are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Schedules and assigns work orders to appropriate crew(s), determines methods for doing work and answers questions.
- Pre-surveys job sites to determine needs for workers, equipment, materials, parts, and safety provisions. Ensures appropriate equipment and materials are available by ordering supplies and scheduling routine and emergency maintenance on construction equipment.
- Ensures public safety precautions, equipment and procedures are implemented by performing site inspections. Provides instruction and training to crew members.
- Responds to outside plant emergency calls as needed.
- Ensures quality customer service by responding to customer complaints concerning construction projects.
- Makes recommendations to Construction Manager for improvements to construction policies and procedures.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.*

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent, plus five plus years’ experience in telecommunications plant operations, construction and/or equipment maintenance and three plus years of experience in leadership roles.
Travel:
Extensive travel and overnights stays expected
