π About the Role
As our Cost Accountant, you will ensure financial efficiency and profitability across our construction projects. Working closely with our construction teams, project managers, and finance department, youβll monitor and optimize project costs, keeping us on track for success!
π What You'll Do
πΉ Cost Analysis & Reporting β Track project costs (labor, materials, equipment) and provide real-time budget insights.
πΉ Budgeting & Forecasting β Assist in bid proposals, budgeting, and financial forecasting to optimize project profitability.
πΉ Job Costing β Maintain accounting systems, allocate project costs, process invoices, and pay applications and subcontractor payments.
πΉ Financial Analysis β Conduct variance analysis, identify cost discrepancies, and provide recommendations to enhance financial performance.
πΉ Compliance & Auditing β Ensure company policies, contracts, and industry regulations are adhered to.
πΉ Collaboration & Communication β Partner with construction teams, procurement, and finance to align financial goals and provide critical insights.
π Who You Are
β Experienced: Minimum 3 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in multi-family construction.
β Tech-savvy: Strong knowledge of Excel, financial reporting tools, and construction software (Ingenious Software a plus!).
β Detail-oriented: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
β Analytical Thinker: Ability to problem-solve and provide actionable insights to project teams.
β Effective Communicator: Comfortable presenting financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
β Organized & Efficient: Ability to manage multiple projects independently while meeting deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
β Knowledge of GAAP & construction-specific accounting practices (e.g., Percentage of Completion (POC) and Completed Contract Method).
β Experience with HUD reporting requirements (a plus but not required).
