Our search is on! MC Companies is a 23-year-old multifamily investment, development, and management firm headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ. We seek a Training and Development Manager to join our corporate team in AZ. Led by industry veterans, MC owns and manages approximately 7,200 units in 29 properties across Arizona, Texas, and Nevada. The company anticipates continued growth across multiple states.
At MC Companies, the Training and Development Manager is responsible for developing and delivering training across various platforms and systems, reaching all employees throughout the organization. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a successful history in organizational development, possess motivational skills, excel in communication, and be an engaged and hands-on manager.
The manager’s primary focus will be enhancing organizational productivity by consistently exploring innovative methods to educate, improve performance, and acknowledge success. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Using Adult Learning Theory and Instructional Design methodology, develop, organize, and update training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials that are written in tailored for MC team members in specific roles, which efficiently decreases targeted performance gaps.
- Defines minimum skill proficiencies for critical positions and develops a process for evaluating team members to identify strengths and weaknesses.
- Facilitate companywide training through multiple modes of delivery, including web-based training, instructor-led classes, seminars/workshops, and blended learning.
- Train newly hired leasing employees on the essential tools needed for closing leases, leasing techniques, strong customer service skills for generating prospects, ongoing knowledge of multi-family specific software, and MC's policies and procedures. (This has not been a direct responsibility – I think this is a left-over from previous leaders in this role, focused only on Leasing rather than a holistic training approach).
- Develop and conduct in-person and small group continued education/refresher training sessions with corporate and onsite team members on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to keep all team members current on industry trends, software updates, and MC policy and procedural changes.
- Manages LMS to deliver training tracks based on role, position, and interests to improve performance, internal promotions, and retention.
- Manages LMS reporting and accuracy of learner profiles.
- Maintains a consistent onboarding experience for new hires that welcomes, educates, and promotes success for new employees beginning on day one.
- Mention New Hire Orientation sessions and maintain communication with the TA and the properties.
- Takes an active role in building and maintaining the department's Sharepoint site, including user interface and document management.
- Provides day-to-day guidance to managers, actively working to promote and recognize good performance.
- Works with the Regional Service Manager to deliver frequent safety training.
- Travels to properties to deliver in-person training and work with teams to develop their site programs.
- Create a succession management plan identifying, assessing, and developing each role within the operations and corporate teams to support continuity throughout MC by focusing on long-term strategies that identify growth potential, align developing skill sets, and provide employees with timely, relevant opportunities to develop needed skills to move to the next level within their department.
- Remain informed of trends in the training and development field relating to the multifamily industry.

- Have a minimum 7 years of experience in a Training and Development role (experience in the multifamily housing industry is a plus)
- Certified Training Professional (preferred)
- Knowledge of LMS (Aspire & GROW Learning preferred), CRM, and Timekeeping systems
- Ability to learn new systems and methods for delivering informative training
- Ability to "train the trainer" for onsite delivery of Company directed training opportunities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools
- Have strong communication, influencing, and time management skills
