We have an opening for a Manager of Safety and Security who will direct and work with third-party security contract / s to ensure the safety and security of MCA guests, staff, and assets. They will be responsible for developing and implementing safety audits and security protocols; and completing an annual review of all current procedures to make recommendations and adjustments as needed. They will work closely with all departments to ensure security and safety for all. To be successful in this role, you will :
- Manage and budget third-party security contract and make recommendations as needed, inclusive of completing weekly reconciliation processing, and providing recommendations during annual budgeting and reforecasting.
- Work closely with Director of Building Operations and third-party security management to assure the safety and security of guests, staff, and MCA assets.
- Direct and oversee the day-to-day safety and security procedures.
- Reviews and assures compliance of safety and security set by the ADA, OSHA, EPA, and other City, State, and / or other Federal regulatory agencies.
- Work with People and Culture department to plan, schedule, and document training to ensure the organization is compliant with these agencies or organizations.
- Review, maintain, and adjust Staff Emergency Procedures on an annual basis.
- In partnership with our third-party security vendor, serve as liaison with governmental agencies and departments, as well as members of the museum and professional community; provide a direct link to OEMC, Chicago Police Department, Chicago Fire Department, and Magnificent Mile Association.
- Review and maintain access control, including but not limited to keys and key cards.
- Create and maintain security and safety audits – daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Assist with investigations, inclusive of reviewing camera footage and providing it to proper authorities upon request.
- Plan and coordinate security for off-hour rentals and special events and programs.

This is a full-time position, with a Tuesday through Saturday 10am-6pm schedule that may occasionally include evenings and weekends as required by activity in the department. This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement per the Remote Work Policy.
