Certified Medication Aide (CMA) is a certified nurse assistant that reports to the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is under the supervision of the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The CMA administers medications as prescribed by the resident’s physician and documents the administration, the medication effectiveness and any noted adverse actions or side effects of the medications in accordance with established Policies and Procedures of the Van Buren House of MRHC, current standards of practice and applicable OSDH regulations. The CMA may not perform certain duties as outlined in OAC 310 : 677-13. The CMA communicates to residents, staff and others in accurate and factual manner and seeks clarification from or refers questions to the Licensed Practical Nurse when indicated.
