What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coder Part Time position at McAlester Regional Health Center?
1. Coding Technical skills- extensive regulatory coding (ICD-10-CM, CPT-4, MS-DRGs) and associated reimbursement knowledge
2. Effective Decision Making - relating and comparing; securing relevant information and identifying key issues; committing to an action after developing alternative courses of action that take into consideration resources, constraints, and organizational values
3. Initiative - independently takes prompt proactive steps toward problem resolution
4. Organization- establishing courses of action to ensure that work is completed efficiently; proactively prioritizes assignments and keen ability to multi-task
5. Communication - communicates clearly, proactively and concisely with all key stakeholders
6. Leadership - leads individuals and groups toward desired outcomes, setting high performance standards and delivering leading quality services
7. PC skills - demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required
Minimum of 2 years acute care inpatient/outpatient coding experience strongly preferred Minimum of 2 years coding auditing/monitoring experience strongly preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications AHIMA OR AAPC coding certification required.
