PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for the camera surveillance monitoring to ensure a safe and orderly school environment for students and staff, conducting police response during emergency situations to ensure safety and minimize the interruption of the educational process.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent, required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to communicate orally and in writing
Ability to follow oral and written instructions
Ability to maintain records as necessary for department purposes
Experience:
Three (3) years experience working with computer software, data entry or in a law enforcement agency, preferred
One (1) year experience with various computer programs, preferred

Auxiliary Pay Structure: Pay Grade 5
Pay Date: Monthly
Hourly Pay Range:
Minimum: $15.60
Midpoint: $18.68
Maximum: $21.76
Note: Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Monitor campus surveillance cameras over hallways, entranceways, parking lots, driveways and other areas of the school and dispatch officers to trouble areas.
2. Maintain video surveillance records for all criminal cases.
3. Prepare and present court testimony on all video evidence.
4. Maintain evidence records and all criminal cases through the ARMS software.
5. Report disturbances and undue distractions on school grounds.
6. Assist police officer to keep the building clear of people not on official school business.
7. Assist law enforcement officers in completing affidavits.
8. Confer with MISD police officers on matters of concern and notify authorities of any situation requiring attention.
9. Prepare written reports of incidents.
10. Report rule violations and offenders to school administrators and/or campus security.
11. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
12. Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).
