Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse specializing in Chemotherapy to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the process. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a deep understanding of oncology nursing practices, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Duties
- Administer chemotherapy and other medications as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after treatment, providing immediate intervention as necessary.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ health status, including vital signs and overall well-being.
- Educate patients and their families about chemotherapy procedures, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
- Maintain accurate patient records using OncoEMR and Intergy or similar electronic health record systems.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Utilize aseptic techniques in all procedures, including IV insertion and administering injections.
- Provide support for patients ages 18-100 when necessary.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices in oncology nursing.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of human physiology relevant to oncology nursing.
- Experience administering injections and performing IV insertions with proficiency.
- Commitment to providing exceptional patient care with a focus on comfort and safety.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining excellent communication skills.
