General Job Summary:

Responsible for general handling work such as loading and unloading trucks, loading, moving and unloading material within or between departments, moving stacking or placing storage bins within departments of receiving areas. Uses material handling equipment such as hand trucks, tow motors, forklifts, pallet trucks, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follows all safety process and procedures in accordance with the job and Company policy.
  • Accountable for properly moving materials to workstations and/or staging areas per the ERP system process flow instructions.
  • Loads and unloads material onto or from trucks, pallets, racks and shelves and location logged in ERP system.
  • Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
  • Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated area using forklift, tow motor or other devices.
  • Ensures all activity involving moving material or product is entered in ERP system accurately.
  • Assist in Inventory Cage when necessary.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Requirements:

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).


Experience

2-3 years related experience moving material/product within production environment following production processes. Must be self-motivated and a high paced individual.


Other Requirements:

Tow motor and stand-up stacker forklift experience and certification. Ability to work under pressure, with tight deadlines and restraints.


Computer Skills:

Good computer skills are necessary. ERP system experience preferred.


Language Skills:

Intermediate Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization.


Mathematical Skills:

Basic Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate


Reasoning Ability:

Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job the Associate is regularly required to sit; walk, maneuver through the office and factory; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; grasp and twist; talk or hear; and lift and/or move equipment/product weighing up to 50 pounds. Utilize lift assist or work with another associate to lift anything greater than 50Ilbs.
