McARDLE & WHITMAN, PC is seeking applicants for a full-time and a part-time legal assistant position that will specialize in case origination and the organization of medical records, billing, and damages. Legal experience working on personal injury cases is preferred but not required. Candidates must have at least 2 years’ experience working in an office environment or in medical billing and be comfortable managing a calendar and communicating with clients, medical providers, and billing companies. The position includes opportunity for advancement and training in additional areas of the legal field and litigation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Client file creation/organization;
  • Collection of initial client information and initiation of insurance claims;
  • Client communication in coordination with attorney;
  • Calendaring and managing tasks, appointments and events for yourself and two attorneys;
  • Preparation of correspondence;
  • Managing all aspects of gathering client medical records, medical bills, and subrogation information related to a personal injury claim/case;
  • Reviewing, organizing, and storing documents in electronic files;
  • Verifying balances with medical providers; and
  • Summarizing medical records with experience in identifying important details.

Qualified candidates should have the following characteristics:

· Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail;

· An ability to work independently;

· Outstanding problem-solving, writing, and phone skills;

· Experience with Word and Excel or comparable software;

· Experience with task management and calendar software; and

· Experience with or comfort using online software and data retrieval services.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
