Job Summary:
We are seeking an Immigration Intake Specialist. An Immigration Intake Specialist is the first point of contact for potential clients and contributes greatly to their first impressions of our firm. The specialist is responsible for managing initial interactions by gathering necessary information, evaluating the viability of cases, and scheduling consultations with attorneys to determine if the client is a good fit for the firm's practice areas, essentially streamlining the client onboarding process by collecting relevant details and ensuring all necessary paperwork is complete.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interviewing prospective clients by phone calls, emails, and online inquiries to understand their Immigration issues and concerns.
- Evaluating, in coordination with an attorney, the potential merit of a case based on the client's information.
- Gathering detailed client information including personal and legal history, relevant documents, and contact information.
- Completing necessary intake forms and paperwork to initiate a new client file.
- Accurately entering client data and case information into the firm's database.
- Performing administrative support tasks as assigned.
Required skills for an Immigration Intake Specialist:
- Strong knowledge of Immigration Law and terminology
- Ability to quickly assess legal issues and identify relevant information
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with potential clients
- Strong listening abilities to accurately understand client concerns
- Excellent judgement with the ability to work under limited supervision
- Ability to interact professionally with people from various backgrounds
- Detail-oriented to ensure accurate data collection and recordkeeping
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Previous experience working in a law firm or high-volume office handling calls and client interaction
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and as an individual contributor
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and case management software
- Fluency in a foreign language
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full Time. In office. Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Required Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree (in any subject) is preferred.
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a law firm ideally an immigration law firm
Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 (Annual Salary) Salary commensurate with experience.
