McBride Homes has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Corporate Controller to join our leadership team and drive financial excellence across our organization. The Corporate Controller will partner with senior executives, lead a talented team, and shape the financial strategy that powers our growth. McBride is Missouri's largest home builder and is an industry leader in residential new home construction. With 920 home closings in 2023 and a milestone of 1,008 home closings in 2024, McBride ranks as the 33rd largest privately owned builder and the 66th largest builder in the country. This is an in-office position located in our state-of-the-art facility in Chesterfield Valley.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead Financial Strategy: Own the financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes to ensure McBride Homes stays ahead of the curve.
- Drive Operational Impact: Partner with division leaders and executives to provide actionable insights that optimize profitability, streamline costs, and fuel growth.
- Build and Inspire a Team: Manage and mentor a skilled finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
- Ensure Precision and Compliance: Oversee all accounting operations-general ledger, A/P, A/R, payroll, and audits-delivering timely, accurate financials while maintaining airtight compliance with GAAP.
- Shape the Future: Play a key role in integrating financial systems and processes for new business units, ensuring scalability and success as we expand beyond home building.
- Be a Trusted Advisor: Present financial performance, risks, and opportunities to the C-suite, translating complex data into strategic recommendations that win buy-in and drive decisions.
- Innovate Relentlessly: Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging technology and best practices to keep our financial operations lean and cutting-edge.
- Proven Leadership: 8 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role-ideally with experience from Big 4 Accounting Firms, construction, or real estate related companies with scale.
- Financial Mastery: Deep expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls, with a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-Building Chops: A natural leader who's managed and motivated teams to exceed expectations and deliver under pressure.
- Strategic Vision: Big-picture thinker with the ability to connect financial data to operational outcomes and long-term growth goals.
- Homebuilding Edge: Experience with residential construction or real estate is a major plus-especially if you've worked with land acquisition, development, or production homebuilding.
- Tech Savvy: Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills; bonus points for experience implementing and teaching financial tools or software.
- Credentials: CPA strongly preferred; Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; MBA is a bonus.
