McBride Building Supply & McBride Homes is seeking an experienced residential structural engineer that is an expert in CAD to lead a design team that specializes in wood component manufacturing. This new role will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and value engineering residential plans that include single family, townhomes, and some small multifamily. This leadership role will oversee preparation of both structural drawings and truss/panel manufacturing drawings to create an efficient workflow from paper to the built wall panels for installation. Deliverables will include engineered plans, as well as output files that will directly input into the manufacturing machines. It is critical that this role leads the engineering from design to production and works directly with the field for easy installations. This position will be located in our state-of-the-art facility in Chesterfield Valley.

Salary Range: $115,000 - $150,000/yr. depending on experience and an annual, discretionary bonus program
Location: St. Louis, MO (McBride Homes Corporate Office)
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain high proficiency in AutoCAD that includes working with third party engineer software for wall panels, truss, and framing design
- Ability to develop libraries and implement standardization within AutoCAD
- Design and analyze structural systems for various projects, both architectural and engineering
- Collaborate with architects and construction teams/field staff to integrate efficient structural solutions into design
- Manage a design staff that consistently meets deliverable schedules while maintaining clear communication with all team members
- Conduct thorough documentation of structural designs, calculations, and project notes
- Responsible for profitable operation and growth of the design division
- Builds and maintains the design team through hiring, training, incentivizing, and coaching team members
- Establishes standard work processes, automate processes, and codifies best practices for the performance and delivery of engineering plans and activities
Required Qualifications:
- Registered as an active Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Missouri (or able to obtain in 90 days)
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or related engineering disciplines
- 5 years of experience in structural engineering, structural engineer (passed 16-hour NCEES exam) highly recommended
- Strong experience in AutoCAD, ability to lead drafting team hands on
- Ability to understand, interpret, and correctly apply both national and local standards and codes (IRC, IBC, AISC, etc.)
- Keep up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, and standards
- Proven experience and knowledge of residential construction, safety regulations, and industry standards
