Monitoring, Control and Compliance, Inc. (MCC) is a privately owned small business providing services to the solid waste industry.? Founded by a former landfill gas technician in 2005 with two employees; and has since grown to approximately 65 employees utilizing a controlled growth strategy.??
Our focus is the operation and maintenance of landfill gas systems that are installed to reduce the emissions of Methane impacting our environment and provide for a “Green” energy source for our client’s end-users.??

Core Functions
A detail-oriented and tech-savvy Entry-Level Data Analyst to Support Data System Manager and Data Management Department in streamlining, standardizing, and automating data processes. Has a strong foundation in Excel, Power Automate, Python, VBA, Power Query, or M language and an interest in automating business processes.
As part of this role, you will help develop and maintain workflows, clean and transform data, automate reports, and streamline business processes. You'll work closely with the Data System Manager and data approvers to optimize data operations and improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities :
Data Analysis & Automation :
Process, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources.Use Excel (Power Query, VBA, M language) and Power Automate to streamline workflows.Automate manual tasks using Python, Power Automate, or VBA.Create pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.Operational Efficiency & ReportingBuild automated dashboards and reports for internal use.Assist in cost-cutting measures without compromising quality.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights.Workflow & Process OptimizationIdentify manual tasks that can be automated and implement solutions.Collaborate with internal teams to improve data pipelines.Ensure data integrity, compliance, and security best practices.Communication & Cross-Team Support :
Work with Data Managers, Project Managers, Technicians, and Regional Managers to improve operations. .Support internal training on new tools and automation methods.Process Optimization & AutomationIdentify inefficiencies and inconsistencies across regional data and work on solutions.Reduce manual data processing by implementing automation with VBA, Power Query, Python, SQL, or Power Automate.Support the company’s goal of moving away from manual data processes by introducing more standardized, automated workflows.Build cost-effective automation solutions that fit within the constraints of a small business environment.Data Management & Reporting
Assist in covering data processors when they are on vacation to ensure seamless operations.Help standardize processes across different regions and departments.Support data cleaning, transformation, and reporting tasks to maintain data integrity.Develop automated dashboards, ETL pipelines, and custom reports using Excel, Power Query, VBA, Python, or SQL.Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all reporting tools and platforms.Internal Support & Training
Act as a liaison between the Data System Manager and other departments to provide analytical support.Assist internal staff with new tools, automation methods, and best practices for data handling.Help team members adopt better reporting and workflow tools for efficiency.Document automation processes and provide basic training on self-service analytics tools like Power BI or Power Query.Strategic Planning
Assist in standardizing data processes across the company.Identify and implement cost-effective automation solutions to streamline workflows.Develop strategies to reduce manual data handling and increase efficiency.Work with management to assess regional data trends and improve operations.Recommend tools or methods to improve reporting and data visibility.Stay updated on new automation technologies that can benefit the company.Support the Data System Manager in managing data processes.Help train internal staff on new automation tools and best practices.Collaborate with managers and teams to ensure smooth data operations.Serve as a point of contact for troubleshooting data workflow issues.Provide feedback and suggestions to improve company-wide data handling.Assist in documenting automation processes for consistency and scalability.Requirements : Requirements
Bachelor's degree in information systems, data analytics, computer science, or a related area; 4-year degree preferred.Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in data analysis and software development.Technical Skills : Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Python) and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Experience with data stewardship, data quality management, and collaboration with DBA functions.Analytical Mindset : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.Database creation is a plus but not required.
