Job Summary – Bakery Associate
- Maintain presentable and adequately filled shelves and display cases.
- Wrap, package and price all products accurately and legibly.
- Fill customer orders as requested, provided exceptional customer service.
- Remove products from freezer when instructed.
- Set up and put out bakery items for use by baker.
- Rotate products and remove out-of-code items.
- Maintain knowledge of all products sold within the department.
- Maintain a regular cleaning and sanitation program.
- Refer unusual or difficult customer problems to a manager for prompt attention.
- Back up to Department Manager.
- Perform other duties as directed or required by company policies.
- Some Bakery or Food Industry experience is desirable.
Position requires availability most weekends and some holidays.
Physical Demands:
- Stand on feet, bend, stoop or walk for the majority of the time on duty.
- Work in freezer and/or cooler for short periods of time.
- Work safely around ovens.
- Lift, push, and/or pull bakery ingredients/items up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to wear company-provided uniform, and maintain a clean and groomed appearance.
Skills Requirements:
- Friendly personality and “customer service” mentality.
- Good mathematic skills to operate scales & computers and to coordinate dates for inventory rotation.
- Good verbal and written communications skills.
