Job Summary

Job Functions
- Operate all packaging equipment (including setups, shut downs and changeovers) to maximize line efficiencies and package product according to specifications. Must demonstrate ability to rotate between multiple lines.
- Ensure the line is set-up and run according to Process Center Lines in tandem with Standard Operating Procedures and product design, including equipment, process, materials and crewing.
- Perform pre-operational checks of equipment for safety and proper setup, ensuring all equipment is functional and guards are in place.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems and communicate with Production Supervisor, Leads, and Maintenance any operational issues that affect productivity and efficiency.
- Demonstrate the ability to perform and conduct measurements and tests as assigned to determine key metrics data. Perform adjustments (equipment alignment, speeds, pressures, etc.) as necessary to maintain process center lines.
- Comprehend rework process. Re-work product that is put on hold and ability to reconcile paperwork.
- Verify all code dates according to routing and ensure codes are legible and complete. Monitor code date for accuracy and fill out appropriate code date audit sheets.
- Ensure metal detection is operational by performing checks. Complete HACCP sheet and enter metal detector data in computer system.
- Responsible for set up of lines with the correct water spray application. Capable of making water spray percent checks and making appropriate adjustments.
- Order, issue, and return raw materials. Confirm accuracy of material usage and line location.
- Perform sanitation on assigned equipment and work area. Must be able to perform Assembly/Operation/Disassembly procedures.
- Complete all required documentation and line data collection including established operator checklists. Ensure reporting of data is timely and accurate.
- Maintain proficiency in computer systems use.
- Ability to facilitate and properly communicate pertinent information to relevant parties.
- Follow proper GMP and safety guidelines.
- Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
- Follow and enforce all safety regulations.
- Work area will be maintained in a safe and clean environment at all times.
- Operate the forklift
- Partner with other Packaging Operators by assisting with changeovers and rotating through breaks.
- Lead and assist with various production projects as assigned.
- Coordinate work duties with Production Supervisor during down time.
- All other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.

Job Qualification Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read, comprehends, and communicate in basic English and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions with minimal guidance, and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to work independently and with others.
- Experience in a manufacturing setting operating machinery preferred.
- Knowledge of sanitation on designated equipment.
- Maintain equipment re-certification as required.
- Maintain quality audit certification as required.
- Maintain forklift re-certification as required.
- Computer literacy.
