About The Role.

Our quality technicians will test and inspect products at various stages of the production process, comply, and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of products. This role will require a working schedule of nights, 6 pm to 6 am - 12 hours rotating schedule.

Compensation Package: $23.58-$23.58 USD hourly bonus eligibility
The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. Hiring compensation will be determined based on experience, skill set, education/training, and other organizational needs.
Shift Differential Pay: $1.00

About The Role.

Our quality technicians will test and inspect products at various stages of the production process, comply, and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of products. This role will require a working schedule of nights, 6 pm to 6 am - 12 hours rotating schedule.
Accountabilities
- Interprets raw and finished product specifications, Training Activity Plans (TAPs), and company SOPs to ensure consistency, accuracy, testing techniques, and frequencies related to the production process of products.
- Selects products for tests at specified stages in the production process, and tests products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
- Performs attribute tests of the finished product in an accurate and timely manner following product specifications and company SOP. Records test data, applies statistical quality control procedures, and files records accordingly.
- Involved with training (formal or informal) of personnel to interpret, test, evaluate, measure, chart, calculate, weigh, record, file, and perform other SPC testing associated with manufacturing quality products continuously.
- Monitors and assists other testing personnel so that consistency, accuracy, attention to detail, technique, and frequency are maintained per product specifications and SOP’s.
- Evaluate data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing specifications or SOP’s.
- Recommends modifications of existing quality or manufacturing specifications and SOPs to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment and raw material capabilities.
- Solves problems by analyzing information, conducting tests, investigating, and receiving feedback. Communicate findings to the QC Lead, QC Supervisors, manufacturing management, and any other persons involved. Recommends permanent solutions.
- Sets up and performs destructive and non-destructive testing on raw materials and finished products to measure performance and quality characteristics per product specification or SOP.
- Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into a computer for analysis. Leads by example, is involved with training, and enforces GMP compliance by all plant personnel and visitors when necessary. Adheres to all company and plant policies related to GMPs.
- Collects raw or finished product samples for microbiological testing, nutritional analysis, customer requests, and any other time as directed.
- Knows and understands the HACCP process. Tests, records, and files the data required to satisfy HACCP. Involved with educating, training, and auditing the HACCP process continuously to ensure food safety.
- Assists in the assembly or revision of a training process, and uses this training tool to assist in the training of new or back-up employees of QC Department.
- Performs Net Weight control and Metal Detector performance checks per SOP.
- Collects samples, records information, and informs QC Raw Materials Technician, QC Lead, QC Supervisor, and/or manufacturing management when a foreign object or quality deficiency is found in the raw or finished product.
- Recommends measures to improve QC testing methods, procedures, work schedules, lab environments, SOPs, specifications, HACCP, production methods, equipment performance, new product ideas, and quality of the product in regards to increased efficiencies, safety, quality, team development, and lowered costs.
- Performs calibration of measuring equipment on a routine basis per SOP.
- Promotes and supports work teams to motivate and resolve conflict. Utilized training to assist in keeping a positive, productive attitude necessary to achieve goals during work situations.
- Performs general or preventive maintenance and cleaning of testing and sampling equipment during use to ensure proper function as recommended by the equipment manufacturer or SOP. Notifies QC Lead or Supervisor of malfunctioning equipment as necessary.
- Performs cleaning and organizing of QC Lab and work area on an ongoing basis.
- Strictly adheres to all company and plant policies concerning safety, performing proper Lock-Out and tag-out procedures, using proper lifting techniques, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, proper walking/stepping, and all other safety procedures related to your duties.
- Adheres to all company and plant policies, work rules, and procedures.
- Performs and ensures proper verbal and written communication in all facets of required duties, including but not limited to phone, fax, handwritten, computer, face-to-face or other means to convey and present facts, information, and materials in a professional, timely manner.
- Regular and consistent attendance is essential for meeting the performance expectations of the position.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of three to six months related experience or training in Quality
- Able to apply concepts of basic algebra.
- Able to enter data with intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Applying common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Comprehend and communicate in basic English and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Read, interpret, and analyze general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations.
- Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
