Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Designer. As a member of the SWARCO McCain family, you will assist in the preparation and revision of engineering drawings and item entry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Assist mechanical engineers in preparing drawings for sheet metal parts and weldments.
Design and document the construction of electronic enclosures and components.
Create solid model parts and assemblies.
Create drawing files from part and assembly models.
Create and incorporate Engineering Change Notices.
Assist Sales in interpreting specifications.
Requirements
Must be proficient in SolidWorks and sheet metal modeling.
Minimum of 2 years of SolidWorks experience with sheet metal modeling.
Must have computer skills, i.e. MS Word, Excel, Windows Explorer, etc.
Must be familiar with MRP, i.e. Great Plains, or other systems for creating bill of materials.
Must be creative and able to work as a member of the design team.
Must be able to work from specifications, rough sketches and verbal instructions.
Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
Must maintain highest level of professionalism under pressure.
Ability to work in high paced environment.
Ability to be flexible.
Ability to handle multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to interact with customers and all levels of personnel in a professional manner.
Physical Conditions / Requirements
No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
Occasional - Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
Job frequently requires sitting and handling objects with hands.
Job occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
Vision requirements : Ability to see information in print and or electronically.
