McCall Middle School is seeking a 1.0 FTE School Nurse
- Serve as one of the two school nurses for a Grade 6-8 middle school made up of approximately 1100 students.
- Assess and deliver care to students with acute and chronic illnesses (including diabetes, seizure disorders, ADHD, Asthma, Life-Threatening Allergies, Hearing and Visual Deficits) as well as, acute injuries.
- Oversee health records and ensure immunization compliance.
- Complete DPH required reporting forms.
- Implement Individual Health Care Plans for students with various medical needs. Follow DPH School Health mandates and guidelines. Organize and carry out mandated DPH health screenings programs and make appropriate referrals.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to administer medications appropriately, in keeping with school policy on the administration of medication in the school.
- Perform tasks to support school activities such as preparing student medication for field trips.
- Member of School Incident Management Team.
- Responsible for annual and bi-annual staff training.
Must hold a valid DESE Certification in Nursing. Must have BSN .
The ideal candidate will hold a Masters plus 3 years of nursing and/ or school nurse experience.
