McCall-Thomas Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a full-time Telecommunications Engineer I or II. This role will require onsite work in our Orangeburg, SC office.
*Note this position does require a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.
The McCall-Thomas Telecommunications Engineer I or II job responsibilities include:
- Fiber Network Design
- Fiber Route/Equipment Planning
- Construction/Project Management
- Fiber to the Home (FTTH) Contract Management
- Conference travel and client relations
- FTTP GPON/XGS-PON/NG-PON2 and active ethernet technologies
- Adtran and Calix access equipment
- Fiber testing, specifications and analysis
- OSP, Engineering, and Construction of Fiber Optic Systems supplying residential and broadband services
- RUS specifications and contracts for rural telecommunications or rural electric cooperatives
Required for this role:
- Eligibility to work in the US with no sponsorship requirements (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited college engineering program (required)
- Ability to give technical presentations on various telecommunications subjects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams
Preferred:
- experience in FTTH Technology/Design
- PE license preferred or on track to obtain it in the near future
- experience with FTTH design, staking, construction, inspection, contracts
- Understanding of consulting engineering industry
- Proficiency in Engineering and GIS systems
