Electrical Engineer (Arc Flash)
McCall Thomas Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced full-time Technician or Electrical Engineer to conduct arc flash studies.
Job Location: Orangeburg, SC office or Moncks Corner, SC office (This is not a remote opportunity.)
Work schedule options: M-TH 4X10 or M-F 5X8

McCall-Thomas Engineering is a multi-faceted engineering firm housing multiple divisions including the Communications Engineering Division, the Electrical Engineering Division, the Electric Utility Services Division, the Electric Field Operations & UAS, as well as the McT Learning Center and Print Services.
Primary responsibilities for this role:
- Gather information from electrical system documentation, equipment specifications, and field verifications to create an accurate model
- Perform evaluations of electrical systems in various facilities such as municipal water plants, manufacturing facilities and generating stations, potentially including equipment inspections and safety assessments
- Calculate arc flash energies and other relevant parameters using specialized software including SKM and etap
- Work with clients to explain arc flash hazards, potential solutions, and safety recommendations
- Prepare thorough, timely, and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations that meet client requirements
- Interact with clients’ engineering and technical teams on a regular basis; represent McCall-Thomas Engineering positively and professionally, and develop and maintain professional relationships with clients
- Continually improve job-related engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, process development, and performance

What Will You Need:
- Eligibility to work in the US without sponsorship (required)
- For Technician role: 8 years of arc flash studies work experience OR
- For Engineer role: BS degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program with minimum 4 years arc flash studies experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong understanding of electrical safety practices and procedures.
- Thorough understanding of Arc Flash Analysis protocols and concepts
- Experience in conducting Arc Flash Hazard Analysis using NFPA 70E and IEEE standards
