Responsible for creating models and drawings for heavy industrial facilities and engineered systems including conceptual through Issued for Construction deliverables for fabrication and field installation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design industrial systems in 3D models from engineering documents and drawings.
- Incorporate site data captured via point clouds or site measurements and feedback.
- Perform mechanical and structural arrangements layouts and drawings.
- Prepare fabrication and spool drawing packages.
- Participate in Squad Checks, review and check team deliverables in peer checks.
- Demonstrate basic drafting skills with the following software: AutoDesk Plant3D, Inventor, AutoCAD and other AutoDesk programs.
- Perform other project required duties as assigned by Lead Designer.
- Effectively communicate and project the principles of The McCarl’s Talent Advantage Roadmap
Qualifications:
- Vocational training or Associates degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-4 years of experience with CAD and 3D modeling, Plant3D experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of piping terminology and standard is a plus.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions.
- Ability to produce neat and accurate work product.
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with all levels in the company.
- Ability to attain and promote good customer relationships (both internal and external).
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to calculate amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and weight. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime when needed.
