McCarthy is seeking a Project Accountant to support our Central region based in St. Louis, MO. The Project Accountant will report to the Office Manager and is responsible for bookkeeping/accounting tasks necessary to keep the project running smoothly. The Project Accountant will work in conjunction with all project staff. This role will be on-site a large McCarthy project in St. Louis, MO.
Responsibilities:
- Create owner and subcontractors’ schedules of values
- Manage subcontractor setup and requirements. (Insurance, Bonding, CDI, Subcontracts, etc.)
- Analyze detail of job cost transaction reports.
- Create and submit monthly pay applications to Owner.
- Schedule and Coordinate the timely receipt of pay applications with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Track subcontractor payments, lien waivers and account balances.
- Code and process invoices to vendor.
- Job cost maintenance
- Create cost issues as needed for budget maintenance
- Create change orders based on information given by project manager.
- Manage credit accounts for jobsite.
- Process and submit monthly Yard Billings
- Reconcile accounts
- Collection of time tickets from Project staff and process of weekly payroll.
- Assist Office Manager and Project Manager with preparation and submission of Monthly Owner Pay Request.
- Handle overflow of other administrative and clerical tasks.
Qualifications:
- Must have 3 years’ experience in an accountant role in the construction industry, supporting multiple projects simultaneously preferred
- Experience working on large construction projects ($100M ) preferred
- Proficiency of accounting principles, cost transactions, budget maintenance and pay applications required
- Must have excellent computer skills and be able to demonstrate proficiency with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) typing 50 WPM
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced office environment, able to multitask, meet critical deadlines with eye for accuracy and attention to details
- Ability to work with all levels of project staff and organization
- Experience with Oracle a plus
