Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Resource Planning Analyst to join our growing Resource Planning department. This position will support the resource planning team by assisting with the collection, entry, and analysis of key project, resource, and people data. As an integral member of the team, you will work closely with various departments, including Talent Acquisition, Finance, Operations, and HR, to ensure the timely and accurate management of data that informs critical decision-making for our region's ongoing and future projects.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in Excel and data analytics, looking to build on their skill set in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with data entry, working with large datasets, and have a keen eye for detail, while also developing the ability to interpret and communicate insights to support key decisions. This full-time position is based out of McCarthy’s Phoenix office.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in data collection, entry, and organization from multiple systems and platforms to maintain accurate resource planning and project data.
  • Assess the resource needs for ongoing and upcoming projects, ensuring proper planning and alignment with business objectives.
  • Analyze current resource capacity and utilization to identify potential gaps or inefficiencies.
  • Create and maintain Excel-based tools, reports, and dashboards for internal teams, including resource allocation, forecasting, and project performance metrics.
  • Support the analysis of workforce and project data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Talent Acquisition, Finance, Operations, HR) to gather relevant data and understand reporting needs.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all platforms and reports, identifying discrepancies and taking corrective action when needed.
  • Assist with ad-hoc data requests and reporting needs as directed by the Resource Planning team.
  • Continuously improve and automate data collection and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and insight delivery.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Power Query, and data visualization techniques.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
  • Ability to work in an ever-changing work environment with competing priorities and shifting deadlines.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and finding solutions in situations where processes and paths to goals may not be clearly defined.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings clearly.
  • Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and processes to improve resource planning efforts.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with construction industry terminology or resource management practices is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources systems and structuring is a plus.
