The Solar Post Operator plays a critical role in the safe and successful installation of various solar equipment. This includes operating a wide variety of tools and machines to assemble and construct the solar equipment based on scheduled work plans.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Set up machinery properly before installing piles.
- Communicate effectively with pile tenders before and during installation.
- Use lasers and receivers to ensure accurate pile elevation heights.
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Clean and maintain equipment, perform basic repairs, and assist Foreman with installation and maintenance tasks.
- Check work to ensure adherence to code and specifications.
- Use levels, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure materials are secure.
- Measure dimensions and proportions.
- Work in a production environment with daily production goals and evaluations.
- Wear double hearing protection.
- Perform other duties as assigned by site leadership.
**Requirements:**
- Previous experience operating PD5, PD10, Gayk, or similar pile driving machinery.
- Prior solar experience preferred.
- Proven track record of safety.
- Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and leadership within the team.
- Ability to lift, push, pull heavy materials weighing 50 lbs.
- Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
- Unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper/lower back, visual acuity, depth perception.
- Self-motivated.
- Team player.
- Meet attendance schedule requirements.
- Age 18
