Position: ABA Paraprofessional
Location: McCarthy Middle School
Description: The successful candidate will work with middle school students with to support them in academic, social, and communication tasks in the school setting. Follow and implement curriculum and behavioral support plans. Collect data consistently for students assigned. Interest in working with students with exceptionalities is required and work with an Applied Behavior Analysis approach is preferred. Work as part of an interdisciplinary team of teachers, BCBA, and related service providers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Must be ABA trained (Applied Behavior Analysis) District can/will provide ABA training.
* High school diploma and minimum of 2 years of college
* Knowledge and understanding of ASD disability.
* Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.
* Knowledge of special education procedures.
* Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the identified school level: elementary, middle or high school.
* Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.
* Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, socially in the school setting
* Assist students with toileting as needed
* Ability to follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers
* Ability to collect data consistently
* Ability to consistently follow and implement a behavior support plan.
* Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education
coordinator, and Director of Student Services.
