What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pat-time Physical Therapist Assistant position at McCarthy-Teszler School?
REQUIREMENTS:
- Applicant must be licensed in the state of South Carolina as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Applicant should have minimum 3 years of experience, preferably some in pediatrics. A basic knowledge of motor development and adaptive equipment/assistive devices is required.
- Applicant should have no physical limitations and should be capable of lifting 50 pounds.

POSITION DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The physical therapist assistant in the public school system is responsible for direct patient care in a variety of school settings. This position requires travel throughout Spartanburg County. The individual must be able to work independently, following a schedule, and be flexible enough to change schedules with short notice. Work settings include public schools, homebound settings, and a therapeutic pool.
- The physical therapist assistant is expected to exercise good judgment in patient care related decisions and communicate with the physical therapists any concerns or issues impacting the care of those patients.
- The physical therapist assistant is required to complete necessary patient documentation and other paperwork in an accurate and timely manner, following procedural guidelines established by the schools and reimbursement sources (Medicaid).
