Description of Duties:
- Verification of packaging room production for item code, lot number, weights, and use through dates.
- Verification of weights after the product has been packaged and verification of package integrity.
- Responsible for case counts and investigation of shortages and overages when producing a product.
- Data entry of weights of blended batch sheets and packaged products.
- Metal detection of packaged products.
- Verification of metal detection equipment.
- Approval of finished goods for transport to Plant 1.
- Verification of scale weights.
- Maintain files for all batch sheets.
- Collect and retain samples from blended products and finished products.
- Responsible for monitoring food safety. Inspect product for safety, product quality, and packaging quality
- Perform periodic in-process quality checks: weights, dimensions, sensory, document reviews, etc.
- Inspect incoming raw materials and blends for: proper labeling/coding, allergen labeling requirements, adherence to manufacturing specifications (i.e., flavor, aroma, color, salt percentage)
- Perform periodic finished product checks: case weights, case counts, packaging integrity, case coding, labeling, etc.
- Provide feedback to line operators on corrections and ensure corrections occur.
- Create accurate and thorough documentation of quality results and other necessary information.
- Ensure adherence of employee compliance to GMP’s/SQF policies and safety regulations.
- Communicate food safety and food quality issues to upper management and assist in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions where appropriate.
- Act as a liaison between production, customer service, shipping, and scheduling department.
- Product cook-ups.
- Test the seasoning blends and overflow bag and make sure they conform to specifications.
- Conduct pre-operation testing for micro and food allergens.
- Be able to climb stairs for inspection of blenders.
Additional duties assigned or needed on a day-to-day basis.
