This Reporter Will Be Expected To
- Work with colleagues in Washington and with award-winning reporters in McClatchy’s local newsrooms, including the Miami Herald, Sacramento Bee and Kansas City Star. This reporter will also act as liaison for McClatchy markets in need of contacts or information from the White House.
- Break news, write analysis and produce enterprise on the Trump administration’s actions, focusing on stories that affect McClatchy’s readers. The job requires an understanding of how stories are relevant to specific markets.
- Write lively stories for readers outside Washington.
- Attend press briefings and participate in the in-town and out-of-town presidential pool, and serve as the primary contact for McClatchy with the White House Correspondents Association
