McClendon Center operates programs in three locations, a day program near Metro Center, a therapy practice in Dupont Circle and an outpatient service clinic in the NOMA section of DC. The Center has contracts from the Department of Behavioral Health, Managed Medicaid Organizations, and grants.
McClendon Center is a respected and high rated agency in the District of Columbia. The Center is also the longest independent mental health agency in the District to be accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Job Description
The District MCO's maintains a list of at-risk members who are believed to have behavioral health symptoms that cause them to be users of emergency department services. The Post ER Engagement Clinician (PEEC) must assess these individuals after they are located by the Post ER Engagement Specialist (PEES). This position consists of three main phases: engagement, assessment, and referral/completion.
Engagement:
•The Post ER Engagement Clinician will be referred members based on criteria determined by the MCO.
•The Post ER Engagement Clinician will review the file on all new referrals and will document information in that file.
•The Post ER Engagement Clinician will have access to all known information about the member.
•The Post ER Engagement Clinician will be paid $60 for each assessment.
Assessment:
•The Post ER Engagement Clinician will conduct at brief assessment on the member via a secured video connection.
•Each telehealth assessment will be documented in the member’s Credible file. Documentation must be descriptive and in order for these services to be paid, they must be documented no later than 11:59 PM on the next calendar day following the date of the assessment.
Referral/Completion:
•Once the member has been assessed, the clinician will refer the member to the most appropriate service.
Location and time
Remote, on-call
Hours can be:
10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Monday - Friday
5:00 PM - 8:00 PM Saturday and Sunday
The Clinician will be requested to be available within the above listed timeframes or blocks of time within the above listed timeframe.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Contractor will agree to all of the terms and conditions associated with access to confidential and protected health information (PHI). The Contractor will exercise discretion when opening and/or downloading PHI to ensure its confidentiality and safekeeping. Any documentation, records, or other data belonging to the McClendon Center should be returned to the Center at the conclusion of this contract.
Contractor will be given access to a McClendon Center email address and electronic medical record for the duration of this contract.
All signed employment documents will be enforced through the duration of this agreement.
Payment
• The clinician will be paid $60 for each completed assessment.
Payment Terms
(1) The contractor will submit an invoice for completed assessments, as outlined in the sections above.
(2) The Contractor will be paid semi-monthly as a 1099 employee according to the current payroll schedule (see attachment).
(3) Payment for services rendered must be authorized for direct deposit into a verifiable bank account selected by the Contractor.
(4) McClendon Center reserves the right to render a paper check without notice.
The Contractor is required to document the work duration and specific scope of work completed in the electronic medical record as part of the contract agreement prior to requesting payment for services.

Other Terms
The Contractor agrees to maintain current licensure in the District of Columbia for the duration of this agreement. The Contractor must report any changes in licensure status to McClendon Center immediately. The Contractor is required to furnish updated license document prior to the expiration of the current license to the Human Resources department.
