What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Teacher - Music (Travel) position at McClernand Elementary School?
Location: Addams & McClernand Elementary Schools (Travel)
CONTRACT PERIOD: 180 Days
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator’s License, with elementary music endorsement
- Experience in music instruction preferred
- Knowledge of current curriculum, instructional trends, and school improvement process
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide developmentally appropriate and diverse instruction in music education, including vocal, instrumental and
movement
2. Establish and implement appropriate evaluation procedures for music learning
3. Plan special events and performances that feature various musical forms and styles
4. Arrange for field trips to enhance music appreciation when appropriate and available
5. Work with teaching staff to correlate music instruction with other subjects and to address the
school-wide focus areas
6. Actively participate in appropriate professional development activities for staff
7. Contribute as a team member and/or leader to all school improvement initiatives
8. Maintain a classroom climate and management plan conducive to learning
9. Communicate effectively with students, parents, the public, and staff
10.Perform other duties as assigned
