WMS Administrator
Overview
Reports to Director of Information Technology
As a WMS Administrator, you’ll be an essential member of our sustainment team, ensuring the efficient operation of our Warehouse Management Solution (WMS) to maximize the value we provide to our customers’ distribution systems. You’ll use your expertise in database administration and engineering, particularly with Microsoft SQL Server, alongside additional skills in EDI, TCP/IP, and Power BI, to optimize and support our WMS environments.
Responsibilities
- Operational Support: Provide daily support for WMS and associated software, troubleshooting business and operational issues.
- Issue Management: Quantify issues and escalate to third-party vendors (ERP, Honeywell/Vocollect, RF Hardware, etc.) with comprehensive supporting data.
- WMS Environment Management: Oversee WMS environments (Koerber), managing configurations and migrations between environments.
- Reporting: Modify and create reports in Dashboard, SSRS, Crystal Reports, and Power BI, including adding new search criteria and report pages for single or multiple tables using simple joins.
- Team Development: Mentor and develop team members as WMS Super Users, training them on warehouse and distribution best practices.
- Data Administration: Handle WMS data tasks such as managing new users, menus, locations, pick and put-away sequences, and zone data.
- System Enhancements: Design and implement enhancements and modifications to existing customer WMS environments.
- SQL Optimization: Monitor SQL performance, including index and query tuning.
- EDI Integration: Manage and troubleshoot EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) processes, ensuring seamless communication between systems.
- Network Management: Utilize TCP/IP protocols for system communication and troubleshooting within the WMS environment.
Technical Skills Required:
- Intermediate to Advanced experience in SQL/Oracle queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning, along with EDI, TCP/IP, and Power BI expertise.
Education
- BA/BS in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent.
Experience
- Industry Knowledge: Experience in supply chain and distribution.
- Interface Technologies: Expertise with TCP/IP Sockets, XML, Table-to-Table, etc.
- Hardware Experience: Familiarity with barcode scanning and RF hardware (Intermec, LXE, Motorola, Symbol).
- WMS Expertise: Experience with Koerber, RedPrairie (JDA), Manhattan Associates, SAP-WM, Oracle-WM, Accellos, Infor, etc.
- Expertise with Honeywell/Vocollect, Voxware, TopVox, Lucas, etc
- Labeling: Experience with Bartender or Loftware
- Reporting: Experience with Cognos, Business Objects, SSRS, and Power BI
- Networking: Knowledge of WAN/LAN, and troubleshooting.
