Routing Manager for School Bus Contractor

McConkey Transportation, a local school bus contractor is seeking a Routing Manager to oversee and optimize our transportation operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and will work closely with drivers and Knox County Transportation. As a Routing Manager, you will be responsible for managing changes to routes, analyzing data, and ensuring safe and efficient student transportation while maintaining high standards of service. Your role will be crucial in enhancing operational performance and driving continuous improvement within our team. Pay is based on experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Plans and revises regular and special education bus and shuttle routes.
• Maintains routing spreadsheet.
• Communicates route information to drivers.
• Plans and conducts new driver orientation.
• Plans new driver training and maintains the training schedule.
• Will be the main point of contact for drivers and Transportation in relation to routing issues.
• Run reports as requested.
• Track ridership for billing purposes.
• Manage calendar and assignment of trips.
• Provides quotes on field trips and special trips.
• Respond promptly and professionally to emails and phone calls.

Qualifications.

• Experience in routing (specifically school buses and shuttles a plus).
• A CDL is helpful but not required.
• Knowledge of safety equipment for vehicles and install training.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with drivers and Knox County Transportation members.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
