“Wakefield & Treyburn Country Club is seeking a Fitness Director to join our team. The Fitness Director is responsible for offering a wide variety of fitness and wellness programs to the membership. This individual will oversee the department to include offering personal training and group classes. This individual will report to the General Manager and the Corporate Wellness & Activities Director.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities
• As an active member of the management team, this position works hand in hand with all management departments of the Club as well as with McConnell Golf’s Communications, PR Team and Corporate Wellness and Activities Director.
• Responsible for taking on existing clients who are wanting to continue their training, increasing their fitness levels, losing weight or whatever their wellness goals are
• Providing clients with safe and realistic exercises that they can perform in the gym or with you next to their side
• Talk to members about their fitness goals, and help introduce them to the best package or program as possible
• Inform clients in a timely fashion if you need to change/adjust an appointment and respond quickly to clients who must change their schedules
• Keeping track of your clients’ sessions and turning in the proper information on a bi-weekly basis
• Help the Activity Director and other department heads with new programs, fitness challenges, wellness luncheons etc.
• Perform gym orientation and complete all proper paperwork with new clients and/or first-time gym users
• Hires, trains, supervises, schedules and evaluates fitness staff as needed.
• Promotes and works closely with the fitness staff to provide a well-rounded training program for members
• Completes payroll timesheets for fitness staff
• Contributes to bi-monthly newsletter, and weekly e-mails
• Keeps track of all sign in sheets for fitness
• Responsible for helping coordinate group fitness schedules along with promoting personal training and/or other fitness programs
• Attends yearly seminars and/or symposiums with the McConnell teams from other clubs
• Codes & files invoices as needed for the fitness center
• In charge of planning the yearly budget and sticking to the financials allowed.
• Provides quality service to all members and staff.
• Completes payroll timesheets as appropriate.
• Attends weekly staff meetings
• Performs other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Club Manager and/or Corporate Director of Activities.
*This position would be at two properties - overseeing both Fitness Facilities at Treyburn Country Club and Wakefield Plantation.
Qualifications
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology or related field preferred
• Personal Training and Group Training Certification required (such as NASM, ACSM, ACE, NSCS, NPTI)
• Must have a current and valid CPR and First Aid certifications
• Must have current liability insurance
• 3 years’ experience in personal training and/or group fitness
• Able to perform exercise as demonstrations for clients
