The Water's Edge Equestrian Center Seasonal Barn Hand cares for all animals and maintains their environment by doing multiple hands-on tasks such as cleaning stalls, turning horses out to pasture, maintaining barn and run-in areas, along with feeding, and other facility duties. Has willingness to help with children in various activities such as riding, crafts, and other various planned events. Has reliable transportation and is willing to work weekends along with some holidays. This person is dependable and enjoys a fast-paced work environment and has a friendly personality towards others.
This is a seaonal position from May to September and ranges from 15 to 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities
General Job Duties:
- Feeding and watering all barn animals (Horses, Cat, Pot-Bellied Pig)
- Cleaning of stalls and run-ins
- Cleaning of water troughs, buckets, and feed pans
- Turning horses out to pasture and herd management safety
- Checking horses for injuries or illnesses
- Maintain cleanliness and function of barn and other areas of the center
- Must work well with children as we do lessons and rides all year and horse camps during the summer months.
- Willingness to take clients out on trail rides, assist in ring rides, and lessons.
- Tacking and untacking of horses
- Take responsibility for the safety, education and happiness of all participants
- Demonstrate impeccable time management and promptness
- Leading and or walking with campers that need assistance
- Setting and cleaning up before and after each camp
- Experience with horses is a MUST
- Riding experience is a MUST
- Physical stamina and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
- An even temperament and ability to work with animals.
- Knowledge of basic horse handling and care.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills
- Must know signs of illnesses in horses
