Position Overview:
The Social Service Coordinator will plan, organize and supervise the activities, operations, programs, and staff of an assigned multi-purpose community service center; and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions):

- Organize and supervise community service programs and services at an assigned multi-purpose community service center; coordinate and schedule programs, services, classes, and activities plan, prioritize and delegate the work of staff at assigned center, and prepare and maintain an annual operations budget.
- Participate in the selection of staff for assigned multi-purpose community service center; provide or coordinate staff training.
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; participate in establishing schedules and methods for center management; implement policies and procedures.
- Promote and coordinate specific activities within a multi-purpose community service center; assist in preparation of marketing material including news releases, flyers, schedule of events, pamphlets and brochures.
- Organize, schedule and implement center activities; monitor, inspect and supervise activities and operation both inside and outside of center.
- Schedule usage of multi-purpose community service center for activities and provide information and assistance to users of facilities.
- Assist in conducting surveys of program participants to determine participant needs; interpret and record survey results; implement program changes in response to results.
- Enforce center rules and regulations; explain and post rules.
- Maintain records and develop expense and written reports concerning new or ongoing programs and program effectiveness for required reporting purposes.
- Develop relationships with community organizations and work in partnership for coordination and implementation of programs and services for children, youth, adults, and seniors.
Additional Requirements:
- Associate's degree with major course work in social sciences, administration, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in Community Service program planning and administration.
- Knowledge of community, recreational, social, and cultural programs for children, youth, adults, and senior citizens.
- Ability to stay organized and coordinate with center staff.
- Communicate clearly both orally and written.
- Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.
Education/Experience:
- Associates or better in Social Work or related field.
- Knowledge of community, recreational, social, and cultural programs for children, youth, adults, and senior citizens.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
- This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phone, photocopiers/printers, and filing cabinets.
- This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets.
- This position requires sitting, bending, stooping, or standing as necessary.
