About the Position:

We have been exclusively engaged by a dynamic Chicago-based professional liability company seeking a large law firm attorney with a litigation or corporate background (7 or more years; partner preferred) for an exciting Senior Counsel role. This opportunity blends business development and retention, client service and relations, underwriting, and internal legal and compliance, and offers an excellent work/life balance in a sophisticated group of legal professionals.

Local/Illinois attorneys please; no relocates.

Responsibilities:

· Work with Senior Management and Board to identify and pitch prospective clients

· Undertake various client service and relations efforts to retain current clients, including responding to client questions on coverage, underwriting, pricing, claims management, and loss prevention services

· Underwrite and assess risk profiles of current and prospective clients

· Assist company General Counsel with legal and compliance matters

· Prepare reports and briefings for Senior Management meetings and Board meetings

· Travel (a few days per month) required

Required Qualifications:

· Attorney with 7 or more years of litigation or corporate experience

· Large law firm partner preferred

· Must have excellent client relations and communication skills and the desire for a strong client-facing position

Compensation:

The anticipated salary for this position is $275,000.
