Position Summary

McCormick Taylor is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our Virginia team of engineers and designers.  We are looking for a candidate with experience in any combination of water resources design experience related to stormwater management, drainage, H&H, Erosion Control and VPDES Permitting.  The successful candidate has the opportunity to work in a flexible hybrid remote environment with access to both our Verona and Glen Allen, VA offices.  The position offers immediate growth opportunity for someone looking to lead water resources related designs while having an opportunity to be involved with marketing, project management and staff mentoring.             

Responsibilities

• Completion of calculations and plans in support of stormwater management, drainage and erosion control designs that are in accordance with VDOT and VADEQ requirements.
• Work in collaboration with multi-disciplinary design team
• Ability to organize and prioritize project needs while remaining in communication with the design team.

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional experience
• BS degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineer, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
• Proficient in Microstation, InRoads or Open Roads
• Proficient in Stormwater, Drainage or H&H Analysis Programs including at least 3 of the following: TR-20/TR-55, HY-8, Flowmaster, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, SRH-2D, TUFLOW, HEC-HMS, SWMM, PondPack
• Experience with VDOT or local projects a plus with experience obtaining DEQ VPDES Permits
• Demonstrated project design and discipline lead experience
• Strong collaborative, interpersonal skills, capable of successfully mentoring and managing others
• Strong communications and technical writing skills
