Position Summary
McCormick Taylor has an immediate opening for a Water Resources Designer/Engineer I/II to join our growing Water Resources Department. Projects range from drainage improvements and flood studies to storm drain design, stormwater BMP and retrofit design to hydraulic design of bridge and culvert crossings as well as stream restoration, MS4 support and drainage asset management. The ideal candidate will enjoy working on a diverse project portfolio and thrive in a collaborative team environment. We are seeking an individual who can handle multiple projects, meet deadlines and work well in a hybrid remote office environment. Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, attention to detail and ability to organize is required.

Job Requirements
Responsibilities
- Performs Hydrologic and Hydraulic modeling using WinTR-55/TR-20, HEC-RAS, PC-SWMM, Bentley OpenRoads, InRoads Storm and Sanitary, HydroCAD, Flowmaster, etc.
- Collects and analyzes field data, as-built plans and engineering reports to establish existing conditions and identify critical areas for design criteria
- Designs stormwater management systems for water quality and quantity control
- Prepares drainage, soil erosion and sediment control, utility relocation, right-of-way, staging and construction plans, specifications and engineering estimates for water resources and transportation projects
- Develops topographic and base mapping using GIS and MicroStation
- Occasional construction oversight of water resources improvement projects
- 0-7 years of experience
- BS Degree Required, Civil/Environmental Engineering with an emphasis on Water Resources preferred
- Experience with MDE and SHA PRD criteria strongly preferred
- PE is a plus, EIT strongly desired
- Strong understanding of Hydrologic and Hydraulic principles and practices
- Experience using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD and GIS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite
- Strong communications and technical writing skills
- Experience working effectively in a team atmosphere
