The Driver Support Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the Driver Support team to ensure exceptional real-time resolution of driver and customer issues. This position plays a key role in managing breakdowns, safety incidents, and customer service inquiries in a 24/7 call center environment. The Driver Support Supervisor also assists in route and equipment setup, ensuring operational efficiency and on-time delivery. They will lead training efforts for new hires and maintain proficiency in GPS, TMS and maintenance software to optimize team and route performance.
- Supervision and Problem-Solving:
- Oversee all incoming driver and customer calls or emails to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues, including breakdowns, safety incidents, and other challenges.
- Provide hands-on guidance and support to employees in the Driver Support team to address escalated problems in real time.
- Operations Management:
- Assist with the management of equipment breakdowns and coordination of repairs to minimize disruptions to operations.
- Support the Senior Operations Manager with the development of new routes and allocation of equipment to maximize efficiency and meet delivery deadlines.
- Training and Team Development:
- Supervise the training of all new hires in Driver Support, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills required for success.
- Conduct ongoing coaching and performance evaluations for Driver Support team members.
- Technology and Software Expertise:
- Maintain proficiency in GPS, TMS, and maintenance software used daily to monitor route efficiency, track deliveries, and manage maintenance schedules.
- Leverage software tools to analyze data and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Customer and Driver Experience:
- Collaborate with drivers, customers, and internal departments to provide seamless service and resolve issues effectively.
- Ensure Driver Support staff deliver professional, courteous, and empathetic service in all interactions.
- 24/7 Call Center Oversight:
- Manage the scheduling and performance of a 24/7 call center, ensuring adequate coverage and quick response times.
- Implement procedures to handle high-pressure situations and maintain operational consistency during all shifts.
This role is integral to maintaining a high standard of service and efficiency within our Driver Support team. The Driver Support Supervisor will ensure that both driver and customer needs are met promptly while fostering a supportive and effective working environment for the team.
