This new hire will work at McCormick's Technical Innovation Center (TIC) located in Hunt Valley, Maryland. This position will be eligible to participate in McCormick's MyFlex policy, which allows for flexibility to work 50% onsite and 50% remotely per month.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
This leadership position is responsible for the global strategic direction, policies, development and execution of overall packaging imperatives for McCormick, as well as manage North America Packaging R&D team. The role will also provide day to day leadership of the packaging function by driving innovation, cost savings and business continuity, sustainability and/or improvement projects, and influencing change within the global packaging community. In addition, this position will bring thought leadership credentials in packaging and consumer-led innovation strategies. This position is critical business partner to McCormick Strategy team, PLP Council and Regional Presidents. Extensive knowledge and network within the packaging and CPG industries will be essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and executes long-term Packaging Strategy for McCormick in line with company strategic objectives and LTP goals. Translates brand strategies and consumer insights into effective packaging that highlights the brand identity. Develops and owns packaging platform technology roadmap and leads Global Centre of Expertise for Packaging
- Leads Global Packaging function and North America Packaging team; and works with business units to provide technical direction to key cross-functional partners in Marketing, Sales, Product development, Supply chain and Procurement.
- Serves as the spokesperson and face of McCormick on packaging matters, including industry & trade association engagements, NGO liaison, and multi stakeholder initiatives. Identify key risks and opportunities, assess impacts, and develop strategies to address them that will advance company growth, performance and people imperatives as they relate to packaging. Participates in management of strategic, third party relationships/ventures.
- Responsible for representing McCormick Packaging to senior leadership, both internally and externally to drive results. Engaging in Top-to-Top external customer negotiations and joint business planning relationships with key customers that increase our level of influence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related field required.
- 20 years Technology, Innovation & Packaging Leadership experience required. Must have some experience leading global functions.
- Significant experience in the food & beverage industry, consumer products, and related business segments.
- Strong strategic management and planning skills with demonstrated success in significantly contributing to company plan.
- Strong communication skills needed to interface successfully with high level customer representatives, stakeholders and internal Senior Leadership .
- Demonstrated success in development and succession planning of professional staff
- Management responsibility for global and cross functional teams.
- Competence in sustainable platforms and all primary packaging formats.
- Understands cultural differences and is able to translate ideas and concepts to opportunities outside of US or English-speaking markets.
