Accounting Analyst
Job Description
Job Summary:
McCourt Equipment is looking for a detail oriented and well-organized Accounting Analyst to provide the necessary support to the Financial Controller. The successful candidate will become a point of reference for colleagues, customers, vendors, and management alike, by performing duties as required to support the Accounting Department.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
· Work collaboratively with other accounting team members within the organization.
· Oversee accounts payable purchasing activities, including invoice submission tracking, project coding, obtaining invoice approvals, payment processing for multiple entities/ departments, filing and data storage, and creating process efficiencies as needed.
· Handles vendor correspondence via phone or email.
· Set up new vendors accurately.
· Oversee submission of credit applications as requested by vendors.
· Oversee the reconcilation of incoming vendor statements.
· Attaches the corresponding purchase orders to incoming invoices with all supporting documentation.
· Investigates and resolves problems associated with processing of invoices and purchase orders.
· Prepares batch check runs and credit card payments according to procedure.
· Resolve customer complaints or answer customers' questions regarding policies and procedures.
· Assists with monthly/ weekly status reports, and monthly closings.
· Reconciles various accounts by identifying errors in posting or omissions by applying appropriate accounting standards.
· Receives, researches and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
· Files, maintains, and distributes accounting documents, records and reports.
· Performs other duties as required to support the Accounting Department.
Skills/Qualifications:
· Including but not limited to 5-7 years accounting experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Strong organizational skills; must be detail oriented
· Intermediate or greater Microsoft Excel experience
· Ability to follow up on pending issues.
· Ability to meet deadlines
· Self-starter who can take initiative
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
