About the Company - McCoy Construction & Forestry, a John Deere dealership group with 25 locations across the Midwest and East South Central Regions, has an opening for a Parts Manager.
About the Role - The primary function of the Parts Manager is to manage a parts department and is responsible for managing all aspects of a full-service dealership's parts operations including overall profitability, customer service, sales, inventory, general management, and community relations.
Responsibilities
Manages, monitors, and improves the branch Parts departments to meet the branch objectives
- Plans, coordinates, and control parts activities to achieve budgeted sales and margin objectives
- Maintains labor costs are as low as possible while maintaining quality and meeting demand requirements at the branch level
- Ensures training is provided for all subordinate personnel, as necessary, for proper performance of their responsibilities at the branch level
- Works with branch employees in solving parts related questions and issues
- Participates in regular functional organization meetings to review goals, progress, and solve problems
- Ensures that parts inventory control is performed and that it supports the sales and service requirements of the branch
- Coordinates the parts flow requirements with Centralized Parts Ordering Manager at the branch level to maintain an inventory adequate for efficient operation and good customer service
- Ensures personnel operate in compliance with approved environmental policies, laws, and standards
- Filling parts orders for customers which may require determining correct parts numbers and / or correct parts by using computers, service bulletins, etc
- Ordering parts from manufactures or outside vendors by preparing purchasing orders and correct documentation
- Processing returns parts from customers, issuing proper credit memos and re-stocking the parts
- Pricing parts
- Warehouse duties including pulling parts, stocking parts, and conducting inventory
- Analyzes inventory levels to balance customer needs and zero sales
- Drives parts growth through customer interaction, upselling, and understanding customer needs
- Manages the performance of the CPA(s), conducts reviews, and provides feedback
- Responsible for the financial performance of the parts department. Must analyze financials (revenue, gross margin, expenses, etc.) to identify opportunities for growth and improvement
