Maintenance and Repair of Heavy Duty Diesel Equipment
Mccoy Construction & Forestry, a leading dealership group with multiple locations across the Midwest and East South Central Regions, has an opening for a Shop Service Technician. The position is responsible for repairing and maintaining electric, diesel and gasoline industrial, construction and forestry equipment.
The role involves examining machines to diagnose and repair various mechanical and system issues. This includes fabricating special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings. A clean work area, shop tools, and equipment must be maintained at all times. Ensuring safe work procedures are followed throughout the department is also crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and system issues in heavy duty diesel equipment
- Fabricate custom parts and attachments according to technical drawings
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures
Requirements and Qualifications:
- An associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is preferred
- A minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training in heavy duty diesel equipment is required
- A valid driver's license is necessary
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential
- Leadership and organizational abilities are also required
