The Technical Support Engineer of Heavy Duty Equipment is responsible for the after-sale performance and technical support of all SmartGradeTM and integrated grade control of heavy duty equipped machines. The Technical Support Engineer must have a highly technical understanding of the John Deere SmartGradeTM system, as well as applicable TopconTM products that work in conjunction with SmartGradeTM equipped machines.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Support and diagnose SmartGradeTM and related grade control issues and make appropriate repairs.
Communicate effectively with John Deere and other applicable technical support personnel to successfully resolve customer’s issues from start to finish.
Consistently demonstrate and utilize remote support tools such as John Deere SmartGrade Remote Support or equivalent 3rd party software whenever applicable.
Communicate developing or existing hardware / software concerns related to SmartGradeTM / IGC to appropriate MCF departments.
Actively support the Precision Technology Manager and territory managers within their respective areas to promote, demo and sell SmartGradeTM machines.
Assist in training Territory Managers to conduct SmartGradeTM demonstrations.
Complete and maintain all OEM and government certifications expected or required.
Plan, prepare, and conduct in-field demonstrations and classroom training of grade control solutions for both construction professionals and MCF staff as required.
Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
Seek additional sales, parts, and service opportunities for MCF and report prospects to the appropriate parties.

Qualifications and Skills :
Experience of SmartGradeTM and integrated grade control of heavy duty equipped machines
3-4 years construction and forestry equipment dealership experience required
Demonstrated knowledge and capacity to learn and grow with technology.
Strong knowledge of basic surveying fundamentals such as job site localization, surface measurement, and creation of basic models.
Detailed understanding of grade control hardware and set up.
Willingness to travel (up to 75%)
Knowledge of appropriate industry (Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.)
