McCoy Construction & Forestry, a John Deere dealership group with 25 locations across the Midwest and East South Central Regions, has an opening for a Product Support Sales Representative.
Using technology as an active tool, provide proactive customer uptime support and subsequent growth for McCoy Construction and Forestry (MCF). Achieves MCF’s customer support and satisfaction goals, parts and service marketing and management capability in a specific geographic area of responsibility. Manages the product support process to preempt and resolve technical and/or parts issues impacting machine performance and uptime by developing customer relationship.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (not in order of priority):
- External (Customer Focused) sales/support position
- Using the benefits of technology, strategically focus on incremental revenue opportunities that support both parts and service strategic fiscal objectives
- Make field related purpose-built customer calls to follow up on Product Support opportunities generated through telematics and available prospecting data. Provide leads for Parts and Service Department follow-up when appropriate
- Fully utilize McCoy’s customer relationship management (CRM) tool by detailing all meaningful customer interactions, as well as uploading related documents
- Actively promote Preventative Maintenance Contracts (PM’s) or Total Maintenance and Repair Contracts (TMR’s)
- Provide customer training on Operation Center and related applications for new John Deere and other applicable equipment
- Provide follow up customer call and/or reports highlighting key equipment performance measures on a scheduled basis
- Proactively monitor JDLINK data and promote and maintain machine connectivity as well as customer digital partnerships
- Actively promote the sale of Universal Telematics Devices
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Maintain regular onsite attendance as required by your supervisor
Education, Skills & Knowledge Required:
- Degree preferred and/or applicable experience in an Engineering/Technology /Marketing discipline
- Minimum of 5 years related Equipment experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated sales and marketing skill. Understanding of the principles, can apply the information to complex situations, develop new applications and provide expert support for other practitioners
- Knowledge of products and services offered by the appropriate area of responsibility. (Has an expert understanding of the principles, can apply the information to complex situations, solve complex problems, conduct research/break new ground, develop new applications, and provide expert support for other practitioners)
- Good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to be customer focused

- Ability to recognize and resolve differences in a timely fashion that follows company protocol
- Ability to execute and analyze effectively
- Ability to solve complex problems and conduct research
- Ability to travel up to 60% of the time with some overnight stays included
