Job Opportunity
We are seeking a part-time Yard Crewmember to assist customers, operate a forklift, and provide general store support.
About the Role
This is a part-time opportunity with a starting hourly pay rate of $15.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers in the lumberyard and respond to their questions about products.
- Load and unload products safely and accurately into customers', vendors', and company vehicles.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the lumberyard and warehouses by stacking products squarely and picking up bands, chocks, and trash.
- Operate a forklift and perform routine safety checks according to company guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to carry out instructions without constant supervision.
- Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.
- Knowledge of weight distribution and loading patterns.
- The ability to adjust controls quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift operator certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Environment
Prolonged periods of standing and moving around the yard and warehouse are required. Must be able to use the three point hold when getting into trucks and/or forklifts. May need to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work in various types of weather.
