Medication Aide

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medication Aide to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing quality care to our patients, ensuring that they receive their medications safely and effectively. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, as well as experience in caregiving settings such as assisted living homes. The Medication Aide will work closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to support the well-being of residents, particularly those with dementia or other chronic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to patients according to prescribed schedules and protocols.
• Monitor patients for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications.
• Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient responses.
• Assist with vital signs monitoring and report any significant changes to nursing staff.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Support patients in daily living activities while promoting their independence and dignity.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a caregiving role, preferably within an assisted living home.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic understanding of medication administration processes.
• Familiarity with systems used in medical offices, including electronic health records (EHR).
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on patient interaction.
• Commitment to providing compassionate care while adhering to safety protocols and best practices in medication management.
